Casa de la Guerra
Join the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation in celebrating its only major fundraiser of the year at the historic social center of Santa Barbara—Casa de la Guerra. A festive fall décor will invite guests into a series of food, wine and art stations placed throughout the adorned grounds of the Casa de la Guerra. Several fine restaurants will be donating delicious appetizers, many superb wineries will be pouring selections of their finest vintages, and talented local artists will be donating their work for exhibition and sale. Featuring live music—guests will drink, eat, and bid on a fantastic selection of local art and silent auction items as they stroll through the Casa courtyard.
Each year SBTHP presents “Vinos, Tapas y Arte” at a historically significant site in Santa Barbara. Past venues include the Austin Val Verde Estate, El Presidio de Santa Barbara, the Plaza de Alhecama and now Casa de la Guerra. The Casa has been at the heart of Santa Barbara’s history since its construction in the 1820s. Built by Presidio Comandant José de la Guerra, the Casa was the economic, political and social center of the pueblo of Santa Barbara. Today the restored home is a museum featuring original furnishings, a history of the de la Guerra family, and unique temporary exhibitions.
The cost per-person is $100 ($75 tax-deductible). Patron and Distinguished Patron opportunities are available. To purchase tickets or for more information call the Trust at (805) 966-1279.
