On Friday April 20, 2012, SBTHP welcomed 200 local third and fourth graders to El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park for a day of living history demonstrations focusing on early California. On Saturday April 21, 2012 SBTHP celebrated Santa Barbara’s 230th Founding Day at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park. The community enjoyed a wonderful ceremony, including a reenactment of the founding of the Presidio with the Soldados de Cuera, dancing by Las Fiesteras, birthday cake courtesy of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, Reina del Mar Parlor no. 126, the debut of this year’s Saint Barbara, living history demonstrations, Tacos from La Colmena, and a Latin Mass with the Quire of Voyces!
